Biography

Dr. Radwan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST). He is also a Researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), in Aveiro, Portugal. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, in 2009, at Queen's University (Canada), and his Master of Applied Science in 2003, at Carleton University (Canada). Radwan has published more than 125 peer-reviewed articles: 50+ high Impact Factor (IF) journals, 3 books, 9 book chapters, in addition to 80 conference publications. He also possesses 4 filed patents, in his name, which are all funded by the Canadian giant at the time Nortel. His research lies in the area(s) of Engineering and Technology with emphasis on wireless networking. His current research interests include 5G, 6G, and beyond networking, network optimization, cloud/edge networking, energy efficiency, and IoT. Lately, his focus has shifted towards eHealth and networking for the enhancement of and efficient provision of eHealth services, which is shown in his latest publications and projects. Since January 2010, he has been very active in EU collaborative projects. He was involved in 9 International joint research projects.
